“I have had very strong crises, but when I got into Miss Universe I said ‘I’m going to win’, with all the confidence, and I started a special, more powerful treatment, with a complete change in diet,” says Daniela Nicolás about rheumatoid arthritis that suffers.
The 28-year-old actress known for her participation in soap operas like Mamá Mechona, Chipe libre and 20-year-old at 40 was chosen Miss Chile for the contest that Cecilia Bolocco won in 1987.
Three weeks ago Nicolás contacted the space that Martín Cárcamo broadcasts on Instagram at lunchtime where he referred to the work in the beauty contest taking into account his health. This was part of the conversation:
Martín Cárcamo: “In your disease, how does arthritis manifest itself? In the feet, ankles, arms?”
Daniela Nicolás: “In all joints. Pain, swelling, sometimes fluid and intense. I started with this five years ago. Four years ago I was formally diagnosed and what happened to me in that minute was that they are diseases that nobody knows much about. This disease is very similar to lupus, psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis. They are very similar diseases, all premiums.
“And they tell me this, I without understanding much. You go to Google and it’s more catastrophic. I was crying for two weeks. My parents were not in Santiago, I was with my friends and I cried because I did not understand what was going to happen to me. He said that young people do not get arthritis, one thought that it is the arthritis of older people, and it is a different one.
“It caught my attention that there was not complete information so that one felt accompanied as a patient, that they had concrete information. I know that in these diseases they can never tell you what will happen to you in a few more years, no one can give you a certainty if you are going to be good or bad. But you needed support as a patient to know what was happening, and that information did not exist.
“That is why we joined with the Anacroj Corporation (Corporation for Children with Arthritis), to make these invisible diseases visible. And what better way than based on one’s own experience, which is a person suffering from this type of illness, to be able to transmit ”
Carcamo: “Do you suddenly have crises that send you to bed and you have to suspend your activities? At that level? “
Nicholas: “I have had very strong crises, but when I joined the Miss Universe I said ‘I’m going to win’, with all the confidence, and I started a special, more powerful treatment, with a complete change of diet. I can’t eat anything with gluten, sugar, or lactose to reduce inflammation in the body “
Carcamo: “There you lost weight altiro”
Nicholas: “I went down, but that wasn’t the idea, but it was wonderful. And there we started with a much more powerful plan because I said ‘I’m not going to visit Miss Universe. If we go, we will fight it ‘and that means tacos 24/7, which is something that many people have written to me and they say’ but how are you going to compete for the Miss Universe if you have arthritis? How can you wear such high heels? ‘, Because they are really very high. And the only thing I answer is ‘I’ve been wearing heels 24/7 for six months and here I am, stoic.’
