Despite the campaign that a UDI deputy tried to make at the last minute and the presence of a candidate related to the government on the ballot, finally, after four days of voting, the list led by the current president of the union, Izkia Siches, he narrowly imposed himself on that of his opponent, Dr. Renato Acuña; whose proposal failed to convince the collegiate medical body.
In total, 18,977 people voted in the elections, which corresponds to 68.76 percent of the electoral roll:
- List A (Dr. Izkia Siches) 51.78% (9,827 votes)
- List B (Dr. Renato Acuña) 47.39% (8,993 votes)
Izkia Siches will remain as president of Colmed for the next three years, while Patricio Meza will continue as vice president and José Miguel Bernucci as general secretary.
“Thank you to all the colleagues who trusted us again. Today our College and Chile win,” said the helmsman of the Medical College on her Instagram account.
