During the morning of this Sunday, the body of a lifeless man was found on the banks of the Mapocho river, at the height of the Los Reyes Park in the municipality of Santiago.

Carabineros reported that around 9:30 a.m. they received the complaint. Subsequently, the North Central Prosecutor’s Office instructed the attendance of GOPE personnel to remove the body, as well as members of the Homicide Brigade of the Investigative Police (PDI).

According to the PDI inspector, Ricardo Gómez, this is a man between 40 and 50 years old whose body had injuries from the fall and had probably been swept away by the current.

“The wounds are not of a homicidal nature, however the proceedings are still being carried out to establish the dynamics of the event and determine the identity of this person,” he explained.
