The eclipse will be visible in much of Chile and Argentina. In national territory, 100% of the phenomenon can be seen in areas of the Bío Bío, La Araucanía and Los Ríos region.

The National Aeronautics and Space Agency (Pot, for its acronym in English) from the United States will provide live coverage in Spanish of the solar eclipse that will occur this Monday. The broadcast will be available on social networks and the website of the North American institution.

From NASA they point out that “anyone on the central line of the path of totality will have approximately 2 minutes, 10 seconds of totality regardless of the weather.

The show, they add, will provide real-time views of the eclipse, as well as discussions about how these occasions help scientists understand the mysteries of the Sun.

The NASA broadcast will last about an hour and will be in charge of two scientists: Yari Collado-Vega and Bea Gallardo-Lacourt.

The space is a collaboration between the agency and the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. The images will be from the telescopes of the UC Teaching Observatory, Santa Martina

A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon is located obscuring the Sun, from the point of view of the Earth.

In this case, amid the pandemic, travel has been restricted. For this reason, Chileans have been limited in their ability to travel to see the phenomenon.

Even so, it will be visible in much of the country’s territory, with different percentages. You can see an infographic by zones below:
