They declare a red alert in Valparaíso for Forest Fire in a place of difficult access
During the afternoon of this Saturday, a red alert was declared for the Valparaíso region due to a forest fire that affects the Laguna Verde sector.
According to the information provided by Conaf, the forest fire called “La Ballica” is active and has already consumed an area of about 5 hectares of grassland, scrubland and exploitation waste in the Valparaíso commune.
The topographic conditions of the sector make it difficult for land units to access, but Firefighters travel to the site to carry out preventive work in the populated areas.
With the declaration of the Red Alert, all resources will be mobilized in additional support to what has already been deployed by Conaf, Firefighters and the National Civil Protection System. D
In the place, 2 technicians, 11 brigades, 1 Command Post, 3 planes and 2 helicopters from Conaf are already working; Valparaíso and Carabineros firefighters.
