Two matches of the First Division of Chilean soccer were suspended due to coronavirus outbreaks. The ANFP made the decision following the recommendation of the Medical Commission.
The duels on Sunday between Universidad de Chile-Iquique (10:30 am) and Unión La Calera-O’Higgins (9:30 pm) were postponed, due to positive cases in Iquiqueños and Caleranos.

The case of Iquique
In a press release, the Celestial Dragons reported two cases of coronavirus on the player roster, only to find a third case later.
“As a preventive measure, it was decided to take an antigen test to all the rest of the professional staff, detecting an additional positive sample”the club reported.
With the cases of covid-19 in Iquique, the corresponding protocols were activated to avoid more infections and the duel against the U will not be played.
The situation in Unión La Calera
Unión La Calera also reported that a member of its team was diagnosed with positive Covid-19, after performing the PCR test. This led to the suspension of the match against O’Higgins, which was also going to be played this Sunday.
“The person is isolated complying with the pertinent protocols indicated by the health authority”the statement said.
