Given the impossibility of replicating Hulu exactly outside the borders of the United States, due to the contracts and its content linked to television channels in that country, Disney announced in its new presentation to investors that it will launch a streaming platform called Star + that will be focused on its international market.

As revealed by the company, this platform will be in selected markets, including Latin America, offering “hit series from Disney Television Studios and FX”, as well as movies and content from Disney’s libraries and its divisions of 21th Century Studios (the former 20th Century Fox ).

Along with “local, exclusive and original content”, Star + will work in Latin America as an independent application featuring “TV series, movies, local originals, ESPN live sports including soccer leagues, tennis grand slam tournaments and much more” as of June 2021.

Note that in other markets, the platform will simply add a “gigantic collection” to Disney Plus, so Star will incur additional cost for subscribers in the region. This version, just called “Star”, will begin to be released from March next year.
