Alejandro Sabella at the 2014 World Cup – Agencia Uno
Argentina mourns another game. This Tuesday, former soccer player and coach Alejandro Sabella died at the age of 66, after complications derived from an intra-hospital virus, which complicated an acute heart disease.
The former soccer player had been hospitalized since November 26, but his health had worsened in recent days to such an extent that his last hours were spent connected to a mechanical ventilator.
As a coach, Pachorra was runner-up in the world with the Argentina team at the 2014 World Cup, where after losing the final with Germany he did not coach again due to his health.
In addition, he directed Estudiantes La Plata, where he won the Copa Libertadores in 2009 and the Apertura 2010 in Argentine soccer.
As a footballer, he stood out as a creative midfielder and after debuting at River Plate, he added steps in Sheffield United, Estudiantes de La Plata, Gremio, Ferro Carril Oeste and Irapuato.
