The former coach of the Argentine national team Alejandro Sabella died this Tuesday after almost two weeks hospitalized in critical condition due to cardiac and respiratory complications.

Sabella, 66, was admitted to a Buenos Aires health center on November 26 after suffering a decompensation due to a cardiac arrhythmia, and although she showed some improvements that even allowed her to chat with her relatives, this Tuesday her health showed a setback , which ended with his passing.

“Pachorra”, as he was known in the Argentine media, began his career as a footballer at River Plate, standing out as a creative midfielder.

His talent led him to the English club Sheffield United, after which he had steps through Estudiantes de La Plata, Gremio, from Brazil; Ferro Carril Oeste and Irapuato, from Mexico.

After his retirement as a footballer, he was Daniel Pasarella’s technical assistant at River, the Argentine national team, the Uruguayan national team, Parma, Monterrey and Corinthians, and then started his own path.

This included a successful stint at Estudiantes de La Plata, a club where he reached the 2009 Copa Libertadores and the Opening 2010, to later reach the Argentine national team, managing to access the final of the 2014 World Cup, in Brazil.
