Espacio Riesco accused the Ministry of Health (Minsal) of owing him more than 4 million dollars, more than 2,900 million pesos, for the lease of the premises where the Huechuraba Emergency Hospital was implemented.

“Four months ago” they should have paid the money, said the company’s general manager, Sergio Gutiérrez, to T13, visibly upset with the portfolio that Enrique París presides over today.

“I think there is an important responsibility in (former) undersecretary Arturo Zúñiga and his advisers,” he said.

According to the manager, the Minsal has not answered the phone for more than a month.

They acknowledge the debt

The director of the North Metropolitan Health Service, Guillermo Hartwig, explained that “we have a debt with Espacio Riesco of $ 2,092 million.”

Along these lines, he added that “in order to pay them, we have to send the documentation, in this case the contract to the Comptroller and, once the contract is taken into account, payment is made.”

This situation adds to the demand for almost 6 billion Chilean pesos filed against the Ministry of Health after a failed purchase of mechanical ventilators in China.

The company accuses that the Minsal made it buy 100 devices for several million dollars, and then ignore the transaction.
