They arrest a man who beat, raped and held an ex-partner kidnapped for days in Catemu

Carabineros personnel arrested a 23-year-old man accused of beating, raping and holding his ex-partner in Catemu for several days.

According to information published by El Mercurio de Valparaíso, in that town the subject captured the 19-year-old woman with whom he has a child in common.

After five days held against her will, the same means detailed, and taking advantage of the fact that the accused traveled to San Felipe, the woman managed to escape, warning about what she had suffered.

“The victim was physically, psychologically and sexually violated by the accused. She manages to escape from her aggressor and makes the complaint to the Carabineros,” said María Esther Maulen, head of the Investigative Brigade of Sexual Crimes of the PDI of Los Andes, to El Mercury.

Considering that in the middle of the formalization hearing, the man’s psychiatric history was found out, the judge determined his admission to the Putaendo Psychiatric Hospital.

An expert opinion on his mental faculties was requested to continue with the process.
