The Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, warned an increase in new cases of coronavirus in the last 14 days at the national level and expressed concern about the figures in the Metropolitan Region and Coquimbo.

Today, meanwhile, Paris assured that “the increase in MR is 10% in the last seven days” and called on those who changed the phase to “reinforce their controls and measures, if they are not going to continue to regress.”

Regarding the balance of the last day, the Undersecretary of Assistance Networks, Alberto Dougnac, reported that they were diagnosed 1,533 new cases -196 less than yesterday- and of them 1,014 are symptomatic, 494 asymptomatic, 25 not reported.

With this new report, the total number of confirmed infections since March in the country amounted to 558,668, with 9,509 active cases – that is, that can spread the virus – and 533,250 recovered.

In addition, according to data from the Department of Health Statistics and Information (DEIS), 34 new deaths were confirmed, totaling 15,592 deaths nationwide.

Regarding the healthcare network, there are 664 patients in intensive care units, 518 of them with mechanical ventilation support and 67 in critical condition.

Finally, in the last day, 40,161 CRP examinations were carried out, bringing the total to more than 5.4 million.
