The president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, met this Friday for several hours with the international representatives who arrived in the country as observers of the parliamentary elections that will be held this Sunday, December 6.

This was communicated by Maduro himself through his Twitter account, in which he has indicated a “meeting with special guests from the International Accompaniment Program for the December 6 elections.”

Representatives from Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Ecuador, Spain, the United States, France, Guatemala, Iran, Ireland, Paraguay, Romania, Togo and Turkey, are already in the country to participate as observers in the elections.

Among them is former Ecuadorian president Rafael Correa (2007-2017) and his former Foreign Minister, Ricardo Patiño.

Chile will not recognize the result of the parliamentarians

Highlights the absence of observers from the European Union, which has already announced that it will not recognize the results of the elections, a decision that countries like Chile have also communicated.

Venezuelans are called back to the polls to renew their Assembly, in the hands of the opposition since the December 6, 2015 elections.

The elections take place between the accusations made by the opposition faction that has decided not to attend these elections, ensuring that fraud will be committed.

More than twenty million Venezuelans are registered to vote for the 277 parliamentarians who will make up the National Assembly for the period 2021-2026.
