A man was arrested accused of being responsible for a spill of a chemical that left three women injured, inside a station of the Santiago Metro.

It was an event recorded on Friday afternoon, when subway security personnel detained a man in the Los Heroes Station that was moving on Line 2 in the direction of Vespucio Norte.

According to preliminary information, the man was carrying a liquid that could be some type of acid, inside a black backpack, spilling and injuring three adult women, who were referred to the Central Post Office.

Likewise, the team arrived Fire Hazmat to determine the type of chemical that generated the emergency.

As a result of what happened, the Los Héroes Station was closed as a preventive measure. However, the Metro continued to operate on Line 2, being suspended only from Einstein station to Vespucio Norte.

The detainee, meanwhile, records a history but without valid arrest warrants.

The subject availed himself of the right to remain silent, while the Prosecutor’s Office determined the presence of experts from Labocar and OS9 from the Carabineros to investigate the fact.
