The memories and principles with which we founded this project are the most valuable of my political life, and they are the north that guides all my decisions, “he added.
Vidal describes this decision as the “most painful and bitter of my life”, but he took it because “unfortunately, the Democratic Revolution is on a path that I cannot travel. The Democratic Revolution was born to lead the renewal of a worn out center-left and eaten away by the comfort of power. “
“We made a promise to the country and together with the leadership of Beatriz Sánchez, we offered a project to lead, govern and transform Chile. “I would like the DR to be determined to lead a transformative process of the center-left, together with social democratic, socialist, progressive, liberal, green and feminist visions, but the signs that the DR has preferred a path where a classic left pole, on a path where I think an identity of challenge and testimony is privileged, dancing to the beats of a music alien to those that inspired us in the beginning, “he added.
