The Ministry of Health published this Wednesday the traditional epidemiological report weekly, where it is evident that the communes of the south of the country register the highest amounts of active cases of COVID-19.
According to the official report, as of November 30, 627,349 cases have occurred, with 551,743 with laboratory confirmation and 75,606 probable, with a rate of 3,224 infected people per 100,000 inhabitants.
Likewise, the report indicates that the regions of Magallanes (8861.8), Metropolitana (4230.1) and Arica and Parinacota (4203.3), have the highest cumulative incidence rates per 100,000 inhabitants, according to laboratory-confirmed cases.
Regarding the capital, the report confirmed that infections have been on the rise since mid-November, returning to the levels that were in October.
The Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, last Monday he had already warned that the Metropolitan region was among the areas of the country where there was an increase in infections.
Regarding the communes with the most active cases, Punta Arenas continues to lead the list with 456, followed by Puerto Montt (359), Temuco (352) and Concepción (345).
Meanwhile, the measurement of the current incidence rate per 100,000 inhabitants is led by the commune of Natales, in the Magallanes region, with 370.
