“I have decided to retire from politics. “I have missed unique moments”
The deputy currently lives in Temuco Y every Sunday night he travels to Santiago, and then to Congress, in Valparaiso.
“In my first parliamentary term, my twins were born (now five years old). I saw them so little and they were so tiny that they didn’t recognize me; I was not part of their lives. I couldn’t make them sleep or feed them, “Paulsen told The second.
“As a parliamentarian I have been able to help many people. It has been worth seeing the happiness of a family receiving their own home. But my family costs have been too high… Although I have the tremendous support of Vale, my lady, I have missed unique moments, like the birthdays of my children, my wife or the first day of kindergarten. I never imagined it would be so hard to be a regional deputy “, he confessed to the evening.
Paulsen said he was convinced that “there is life after politics” and said that a year and a half ago he installed a children’s playhouse in Temuco with his wife. He also acquired a 40-hectare plot in Perquenco (Cautín): “We bought it with a friend to produce and export European hazelnuts.”
Asked if his retirement is final, he envisioned a possible return, but in a couple of more decades: “After 50 years I would love to be mayor of a commune in my region “, said.
