The musician Jaco Sanchez came out in defense of “The call of nature”, the song he composed for a communication campaign of the Ombudsman for Children and which caused controversy among pro-government deputies, who ask for the departure of defender Patricia Muñoz.
“It seems incredible to me that all those who attack the content of ‘The call of nature’, from the government or from the seats of congress or from the fourth estate, they did not pronounce or judge anyone when the human rights of all those who suffered eye damage in the riots of October 2019 were passed to bear, when they throw a young man at Mapocho or when they shoot their weapons at young people in Araucanía, “the artist, whose real name is Pablo Ilabaca, wrote on his Instagram.
Together with the young Mapuche rapper MC Millaray, the former Chancho en Piedra was the interpreter and composer of this song, which produced hives for his verse “I feel like you should empower yourself and fly, skip all the turnstiles”.
In that sense, Jaco Sánchez assured that said phrase is “a metaphor that alludes to the power that young people have, who triggered the ‘Approve’ vote”, and pointed out to his critics: “They immediately come out to defend ‘peace’. With what face”.
“These people do not believe in the power of young people, in the ideas and opinions they have to contribute. They do not see that they are the protagonists of movements, that they are the future, that they can choose their sexuality, their religion and their political ideology”, complemented the musician.
