Beyond the fact that the ruling party understands that La Moneda acted out of time and only under the threat of a new crisis, their idea of presenting a parallel project for the withdrawal of 10% of the AFPs ended up prospering.

This, when managing to align its senators, the same ones who had announced that they would approve the first of them, born in the Chamber.

In this way, and even with the mixed commission ahead, the PPD decided to mark positions and entered a requirement to prevent the government’s judicial action from prospering in the Constitutional Court.

Together with the councilor for Santiago Alfredo Morgado and the constitutional lawyer José Antonio Ramírez; the president of the community, Heraldo Muñoz, stressed “the importance of being in contact with the people” and revealed the action.

“We believe that beyond the second 10%, for it to be approved, it is essential to make this presentation to the TC because there are no merits for the requirement presented by the President,” the PPD helmsman said in a statement.

First, Muñoz explained, “because using the transitory articles does not represent unconstitutionality and second,” he added, “because the third chapter of the Constitution, referring to the pension system, is not affected here.” Third, he added, “because the powers of the President regarding initiatives are not affected either.”

“We believe that in these difficult circumstances Congress has to come to the aid of the citizenry and the proposal for the second withdrawal of 10% presents and expresses the need to help the middle class and vulnerable sectors that need that money to survive,” he said. the helmsman of the PPD.

Asked about the deadlines, Heraldo Muñoz He said that, for the same reason, the presentation before the TC is so important. “We want the request of the President to be rejected precisely to to facilitate that there is not an even greater delay in the arrival of the silver “, regardless of whether the government’s or the opposition’s project is approved.

It is worth mentioning that, regarding this last initiative, in an interview with The counter, Senator Rabindranath Quinteros (PS) stated that he still has faith that the project that originated in the House can prosper. Quinteros abstained in the Chamber at the time of voting on the Government’s project for a second withdrawal of 10% of the AFPs, because “the loss of prestige of politicians is due to the lack of consequence” and that, if he has advocated for the fact “that the reform of deputies is legal, I cannot change my horse from day to morning”, along with adding that if the TC acted with “the maximum correction”, it would have to declare that the 10% retirement reform approved by the Chamber of Deputies and Deputies, “is constitutional.”

The government project, meanwhile, was approved yesterday by the Senate and next Monday it will begin its second constitutional process in the Labor Commission of the Chamber of Deputies where a discussion is expected regarding the tax collection section. The initiative of the Executive entered with demands for the return of retirement, payment in 60 days and taxes … only the latter survived.
