The monitoring of a patent on the occupied motorcycle and a series of proceedings led by the Special Police Investigations Brigade (BIPE) of the PDI, concluded in a massive operation that began to take place at 6:00 AM today in various communes of the capital and that so far – according to sources consulted – has eight people arrested on suspicion of death threats against the Chief of High Complexity, prosecutor Ximena Chong.
The investigation led by the Central North regional prosecutor (s) Francisco Jacir determined that in the last hours the Seventh Guarantee Court of Santiago issued the arrest warrants against the people who on October 6 went to the investigator’s home, in the Providencia commune, and left her a letter with explicit death threats. All this, according to the antecedents of the investigation, motivated by the audience that Chong starred in days before, when he formalized the then policeman Sebastián Zamora for having driven a teenager to the Mapocho River in the middle of protests.
Until now It is known that the detainees – six men and two women – would have a common affiliation and would belong to an extreme right group called La Vanguardia, the same as Sebastián Izquierdo formalized by attacks in the march for Rejection. Weapons were seized in one of the homes.

Meanwhile, it was ruled out that any of the suspects is a member or former member of the police or the Armed Forces. This is because the PDI hours after the letter with threats to the prosecutor carried out an identity check on a Carabineros lieutenant, which generated the annoyance of the national prosecutor himself, Jorge Abbott, who contacted the then Minister of the Interior, Víctor Perez.
The detainees are in the BIPE and this afternoon they will go to detention control and will be formalized by the prosecutor Jacir who evaluates requesting the preventive detention of the accused.
