The former English goalkeeper Peter Shilton, who was a victim of Diego Armando Maradona’s “hand of God” at the 1986 World Cup in Mexico, caused controversy by a controversial tweet on the day of the death of the “cosmic kite”.
Shilton advertised a “Fluff” -related program to air in the UK this Thursday: “Ester at GMB tomorrow talking about today’s news about Maradona plus an interview with Daily Mail. Thank you for the thousands of messages I received this afternoon“.
This meant many questions to the former goalkeeper, because many consider that he is taking advantage of the death of Maradona to promote his content.
It should be remembered that, Shilton never had sympathy for the Argentine after the goal with the hand. In fact, he did not invite him to his farewell. Although he never mentioned again the great goal that the trans-Andean turned into the same duel, avoiding a large number of rivals from the midfield.
I will be in @GMB tomorrow morning talking about today’s news about Maradona plus an interview with @DailyMailUK thank you for the thousands of messages I have received this afternoon ⚽️
