Fire in Temuco building leaves one dead and forces more than 500 people to evacuate

A fire affected a building located on Arturo Prat street with Andrés Bello in Temuco, La Araucanía region.
According to what was reported by Radio Bío Bío, at least eight fire companies arrived at the site to work in the emergency.
By this fact it was confirmed one person dead and about 500 people had to be evacuated by firefighters and police personnel.
The mayor (s) of La Araucanía, Richard Caifal, indicated that preliminarily the deceased would be an 83-year-old retired Army official.
According to what was reported from the Fire Department, this person would not be self-sufficient, which would have made it impossible for him to escape from the fire, something that the person who would take care of him made known.
The fire would have started on the 15th floor of the Torres del Bosque building, so the volunteers work with an escalator.
Personnel from the Legal Medical Service must arrive to the place to remove the body and perform the rigorous autopsy.
Meanwhile, the causes of the fire are the subject of investigation by the relevant entities.
As a result of the fire, vehicular traffic was suspended while they work in the emergency.
