A new day of demonstrations took place this Monday at the Alameda Libertador Bernardo O’Higgins, in the center of Santiago.

People gathered in the main capital artery to approach the Palacio de La Moneda, in what has been the tonic of the protests called on social networks in recent days.

Transportes reported that the situation forced the generation of traffic diversions in the area. Red Metropolitana de Movilidad, meanwhile, reported the anticipated return of some routes and the application of detours for buses that regularly travel along the Alameda-Providencia axis.

Santiago Metro, meanwhile, had to close the Universidad de Chile station, without stopping trains. Later, La Moneda station would also close.

Carabineros, meanwhile, reported disorders that led to the intervention of personnel from the Prefecture of Public Order Control. Previously, at least eight detainees for disorders were reported.

Hooded men confronted the police personnel with forceful elements and the uniformed police used water and gas cars to disperse the demonstrators.
