A real tragedy was what happened this Sunday afternoon, when a mother tried to rescue one of her daughters from the Toltén River, in Villarrica, and she died drowned.

According to information from Radio Biobío, the captain of the port of Lake Villarica, Héctor Rojas, explained that the Colombian woman was enjoying herself with her family when one of her daughters suffered an accident. Therefore, he decided to jump into the river to rescue her.

The daughter managed to get out of the water, but the 34-year-old woman was not so lucky and was swept away by the torrent, dying by immersion.

The minor was transferred to the Villarrica Hospital to verify injuries and later be handed over to relatives.
