The Ministry of Health (Minsal) regretted this Saturday the death by Covid-19 of Dr. Carol Ortiz, a health officer who worked at the Florida Hospital.
“I think she must leave many lessons. She was there in front, she was working with patients in the place where supposedly there is the greatest risk, precisely contracted his illness outside the hospital “, detailed the Undersecretary of Assistance Networks, Alberto Dougnac.
The health authority also indicated that the affected person was “a healthy young woman who let her guard down and contracted the disease outside the hospital. “
Due to this situation, Dougnac called on the youth to take care of the pandemic, since the “Energy, vitality and knowledge do not make us immune to this disease.”
“We have to become aware of this fact, particularly in this period; the good weather is coming, we begin to socialize more, we are more exposed, we cannot lower our guard,” said the undersecretary.
Ortiz, part of adult ICU from the Dra. Eloísa Díaz Clinical Hospital in La Florida, she was an internist with 15 years of service.
Carol Ortiz, a great woman, a great doctor who dedicated her life to caring for those who needed her most. It leaves a great void in your team with whom you worked so hard at the Florida Hosp ICU and who helped save so many people during this pandemic. We will miss you https://t.co/B6XHp5yRjG
