The Ministry of Housing and Urbanism (Minvu) opened a new application process for the Middle Class Subsidy (DS1). Product of the health crisis, the procedure can be done 100% online and with telephone assistance for families that require it.
This second DS1 call for 2020 is made up of three types of application with different dates: November 17, November 19 and November 23. They all finish their process on December 4.
“The first date will be for the applicants of the previous call, who will be able to approve the automatic application proposal at minvuconecta.cl; While on November 19 it will be the turn of those who carry out the procedure for the first time. And on the 23rd, the process will be opened for applicants for construction on their own site, or those who need to prove an exceptional situation, ”said Minvu.
Who is the subsidy for?
This subsidy allows families who do not own a home and have the capacity to save, access financial assistance to buy a new or used house or apartment from a maximum value of 2,200 Development Units (UF) – just over $ 63 million – or build a home on a site you own.
Families have a period of 21 months, automatically extendable for another 18 months, to find a home that can be purchased with the subsidy.
What are the novelties of this second call to DS1?
-It is not a requirement to have pre-approval of mortgage credit.
-25 points will be awarded for each application prior to DS1 and DS49.
-Postulation 100% online at www.minvu.cl.
What are the requirements to apply to buy a home?
-Be at least 18 years old.
-Identity card valid or expired during 2020.
– Foreigners with identity card and Certificate of Definitive Permanence.

In both cases, the Minvu will have the possibility to verify the step in which the applicant was detained and will contact the person to solve the problem.
