The Undersecretary of the Interior, Juan Fracisco Galli, referred this Tuesday to the arrest of a Mapuche community member accused of participating in a serious incident in the Route 5 South, at the height of the commune of Ercilla.

In this sense, the undersecretary of the Interior valued the investigation carried out by both the Carabineros and the Investigative Police, ensuring that “there is sufficient evidence.”

Finally, the authority announced that in any case they will continue investigating to find the rest of the suspects.
“Nor will we remain calm with that, there were more than twenty people participating in these crimes and we hope that all of them will be arrested and brought to justice,” he concluded.
