Defense Minister Mario Desbordes referred to a possible presidential candidacy on Monday night.

In the program “A esta hora se improvisa” on Channel 13, he said after being consulted about a possible application to La Moneda that “I don’t know, it is probable.”

“We are going to discuss it with the President later,” said the Secretary of State.

In addition, he also stressed that Chile Vamos needs “a very powerful primary” and that “each party puts its best letter and we invite independents like Sebastián Sichel.”

The minister also ruled out including the name of José Antonio Kast in the presidential primaries of Chile Vamos.

In this regard, he stated that the leader of the Republican Party “is not from the coalition.”

“It is not against Kast, he has declared himself in opposition,” Desbordes stressed, adding that “they have made the speech so extreme in recent months that it has become offensive.”
