The Christian Legislative Observatory confirmed the return of “Liberty Bus” to Valparaíso for the next week, after the year 2017 visited different cities of the country, opposing a series of articles of the Gender Identity Law and the homoparental adoption project.
For Marcela Aranda, director of the Observatory, the evaluation of the first bus crossing three years ago was positive. He says that beyond the cartoons and the “hate bus” nickname they received, his position was not against LGBT people.
One of the things that he tries to clarify is that this time his journey does not seek to antagonize the movements for sexual diversity. The Observatory’s questioning this time goes through the articles contained in the Childhood Guarantees Project, where, for example, they criticize that it puts the State as the guarantor of the rights of the child, over the family.
They point out that there are types of minor infractions that overregulate the limits of parenting, and situations can be generated where parents could violate some type of freedom of the child for things such as not letting him use his cell phone, or forcing him to stay at home .
Marcela Aranda said she fears attacks against the bus and asked the Government to protect her displacement.
“The least they want to do is burn the bus (…) The bus has always been a means of visualizing a reality and there are many things to report about the project, “he said.
On the other hand, the Homosexual Integration and Liberation Movement (Movilh) expressed its rejection of the announcement, reiterating the nickname “bus of hate” and announcing that they will respond with the transfer of the Diversity Bus.
The organization reported that it will ask both Metropolitan and Valparaíso municipalities that prevent the passage of the circulation of any slogan of hatred, with false, erroneous and prejudicial messages.
The Movilh spokesperson, Óscar Rementería, referred to the movement’s position.
“In 2017 this bus only brought violence in our country, it brought hateful speeches (…) it only came to damage the dignity of people belonging to sexual minorities,” Rementería stressed.
Aranda pointed out that he does not want to detail what the bus itinerary will still be through retaliation, but he did tell La Radio that it is likely to pass through Viña del Mar and Valparaíso next Wednesday, November 25.
Despite this, it still remains for conversations to take place between the municipalities and the respective movements, due to potential crowding problems that, in addition to generating violence, can increase the contagion of covid-19.
