At least 20 people injured were left in a car accident in the vicinity of the Quillagua Customs Control, in the Tarapacá region, after passenger buses were involved in a rear-end collision.

The incident occurred in the early hours of this Tuesday, near the communes of Pozo Almonte and Iquique, at kilometer 1650 of Route 5 North, causing 20 injuries, of which 5 are serious, according to Firefighters.

Due to the emergency, both firefighters and ambulances from Iquique and Pozo Almonte arrived at the place to provide assistance, where volunteers and SAMU officials worked to provide aid to the injured.

According to the first indications, there was a line of buses and trucks in the vicinity of the Quillagua control and one machine collided with another by range. It would be buses for the transfer of workers.

The injured were referred to a health center.
