Hooded men staged violent incidents this Friday afternoon in the Baquedano Square and its surroundings.

A Transantiago bus was burned at the intersection of Avenida General Busdamente and Rancagua.

According to information from the Carabineros, witnesses indicated that around 8:00 p.m. an undetermined group of people – who were wearing overalls and hoods – attacked and set fire to the Metbus company machine.

The uniformed police had to douse the flames by using the water gun.

In parallel, another group tied the statue of General Baquedano -placed in the square that bears the same name- and tried to tear it down.

His intentions, however, were interrupted by the Carabineros special forces, who dispersed those involved.
