Several health unions called for a strike for this Thursday and Friday, accusing that they have not reached an agreement with the Government on the 2021 Budget for the sector.
In this context, the Minister of Health, Enrique Paris, regretted the situation and recalled that in recent months they have established 21 agreements.
“To thank the work of health officials, as I have always done, however, I deeply regret and am disappointed by the call for a strike and mobilizations despite the more than 30 meetings held by the former Undersecretary of Healthcare Networks, Arturo Zúñiga , and the 16 meetings that I have held with them ”, underlined the authority.
“On Tuesday, November 10, I met again with 16 health unions to present the 2021 Budget and listen to their proposals, I have dialogued and talked with them, that is why the strike hurts, because it threatens the health of patients. I request that they reconsider, ”added the Secretary of State.
Regarding the progress, he detailed that “the proposed Budget for health 2021 increases by 8.9%, and within the items the 150 million dollars stand out to reduce waiting lists and prevent outbreaks; 200 million dollars for the purchase of Covid-19 vaccines in addition to the purchase of the rest of the vaccines ”.
The minister affirmed that they have been constantly in dialogue with the unions and that they have not failed to comply with any of their demands, adding that in the Readjustment Law they will see a way to level the user bonuses.
“We have paid the health goals, we have transferred fees to contract, we have obtained free life insurance for them, remote work, made Covid an occupational disease, for that reason being in dialogue and having signed an agreement on Tuesday and leaving this they call to unemployment.
