Senator from the Progressive Party Alejandro Navarro was hospitalized and operated urgently this Tuesday, after suffering a cardiovascular problem in the city of Chillán.
The parliamentarian for Biobío was traveling – accompanied by a driver and an advisor – from Santiago to his home, in the Penco commune, when he felt discomfort.
After consulting at the hospital in the regional capital of Ñuble, his transfer by ambulance to Hospital Las Higueras de Talcahuano, where it was decided to intervene to perform a “coronary revascularization”: what is commonly known as a derivation.

“Shortly before 10:20 pm on Tuesday, November 10, Senator Alejandro Navarro Brain entered the Las Higueras Hospital, derived from a health facility in Chillan,” the health center confirmed in a statement.
“The senator was admitted to the Hemodynamics and Electrophysiology Unit of the establishment due to a heart condition. It is currently being managed by the cardio-surgical team in our healthcare facility, “explained Las Higueras Hospital.
His team reported that Navarro is stable and that tomorrow morning more details will be delivered about his state of health.
The press point will be outside the Hospital de Higueras de Talcahuano.

Senator Navarro already experienced a serious health situation in 2012, when he crashed on a snowmobile, suffering spinal fractures and pulmonary complications.
A year later, taking the episode with humor and, in the middle of a campaign for his re-election, he launched a video game starring himself, at the wheel of different kinds of motorcycles.
