The Ministry of Health published the 66th Epidemiological Report reporting the state of the coronavirus pandemic, in the report, the 20 communes with the most active cases in the country were detailed.
The document highlights that the most affected areas are led by Temuco with 481 cases, followed by Montt port with 398 infections, and Punta Arenas in third place with 371.
Regarding the Metropolitan Region, there are only three communes that appear in the list: Puente Alto (199), Santiago (144) and Maipú (137).
Covid overview
According to the report, up to November 5, 588,269 cases of COVID-19 have occurred (518,390 with laboratory confirmation and 69,879 probable, without laboratory confirmation).
The highest cumulative incidence rates per 100,000 inhabitants, according to laboratory-confirmed cases, are found in the Magallanes Region (7741.6), the Metropolitan Region (4127.6) and the Arica and Parinacota Region (4016.1).
Of the confirmed and probable reported cases in Epivigila, the median age is 38 years, where 6.42% corresponded to persons under 15 years of age, 24.32% to persons aged 15-29 years, and 29.59% to people aged 30-44 years, 28.69% to persons aged 45-64 years, while the remaining 10.95% to adults aged 65 and over.
