The national trap artist Pablo Chill-E premiered this Friday a surprising collaboration with two emblematic Chilean music bands: Quilapayún and Inti-Illimani Histórico.

The song is titled “Boring” and its lyrics are marked by deep social criticism regarding what has been experienced in the country on a daily basis in recent months.

The creator behind “Boring” is Eduardo Carrasco, musician, philosopher, poet and historical leader from Quilapayún, who counted on the company of Fernando Julio, from Inti-Illimani Histórico, to carry out this task.

In Carrasco’s words, “Bored” expresses “the feeling that all Chileans have after going through this terrible confinement, of not being able to see each other, of feeling that constant threat and of losing what was our life.”

“The protagonist is the people”

On his link with the world of trap, Carrasco commented that “I discovered that the Chilean trap was a universe of music, poetry and messages, where there were many other high-quality exponents”.

In that sense, he stressed that “it is a cultural phenomenon of first importance, an expression of urban culture where the protagonist is the people. I understood that this music was like the current expression of what the new Chilean song had been at the time and I felt a deep closeness to the spirit that animates this kind of music. “

“Boring” was recorded during the pandemic, mainly using cell phones. From this Friday it is already available on different digital platforms.
