Chilean sport is experiencing one of the most important moments in its history. Ignacio Bahamondes made history by knocking out Edson Gomez in spectacular fashion at the Dana White’s Contender Series to secure a UFC contract at just 23 years old.
“La Cage”, throughout his career, had made it clear that his goal was to reach the most important mixed martial arts company and he made it clear since the fight began.
In the first round Bahamondes looked confident and taking advantage of the size difference with his rival. And although he had to receive some blows, he had no problems holding and responding, with a very neat game of feet.

But in the second round what happened he had not imagined even in his best dreams. Following the trend of the previous round, Gomez came out to fight, but with the first blows of the Chilean began to back down and give space.
It was there that The Cage took the opportunity to put a front kick that he left on the floor and totally knocked out his rival. A move similar to the one Anderson Silva delivered in his historic fight with Vitor Belfort years ago.
