Trump campaign defies scrutiny from four key states

The re-election campaign of the American president, Donald trump, challenged this Wednesday the scrutiny in a fourth key state, the one from Georgia, by requesting that possible votes cast after the deadline be located and invalidated.

Georgia is the third key state – along with Pennsylvania and Michigan- in which the Trump campaign has filed a lawsuit to challenge some aspect of the scrutiny, while in another territory, Wisconsin, the president’s team has asked for a recount of all the votes.

We will not allow Democratic election officials to steal this election from President Trump with late and illegal ballots.“The” number two “of the president’s re-election campaign said in a statement, Justin Clark.

The lawsuit, filed with the county of Chatham, where the city of Savannah is located and that it is Democratic-leaning alleges that “a Republican observer observed 53 ballots illegally added issued late to a pile of ballots cast on time by mail“in that county, Clark explained.

To be valid, the ballots in Georgia had to arrive before 7:00 p.m. local time this Tuesday, Election Day, and the Trump campaign alluded to that alleged incident in Savannah, of which it did not provide evidence, to allege that possibly they were trying to count votes received beyond that time.

The appeal presented by the campaign asks “that all counties separate any ballots that were late from those legally cast, to ensure free and fair elections, “summarized Clark.

Target dozen counties

The Republican Party planned file similar lawsuits in a dozen Georgia counties.

The announcement came when the scrutiny in Georgia already exceeds 95% and the results are very tight, so the road the White House could depend on the 16 electoral votes that that southern state distributes.

Trump led the scrutiny on Wednesday by a margin of just 1% over Democratic presidential hopeful Joe Biden, an advantage of about 56K votes, but I know they expected more results before the night was out.

Biden adds 264 delegates to the Electoral College Y is one step away from achieving the 270 delegates who give the keys to the White House, compared to the 214 accumulated by Trump.

The path to the White House for the Democrat is to conquer at least one of the four key states that remain at stake: Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia Y Nevada.
