The Democratic candidate for the White House, Joe Biden, managed to cement his victory in the “hinge” state of Michigan, adding 264 electoral votes.

This leaves him with only 6 of the 270 he needs to wrest the White House from his Republican rival, Donald Trump, as projected by the Associated Press, and networks such as CNN and Fox News.

All eyes on Nevada

Now, Biden only has to secure the advantage he maintains in the state of Nevada, which would give him 6 electoral votes, to achieve 270.

According to the AP, the Democrat adds 49.3% of the preferences in the votes counted in that state, which total 588,252, while Trump accumulates 48.7% with a total of 580,605 votes.

So far, 86% of the votes have been reported, with 190,000 still to be counted according to the New York Times.
