The Seventh Court of Oral Criminal Trial of Santiago acquitted and ordered the release of Daniel Morales and his teenage nephew, the minor of initials BS, accused of arson attack that destroyed the Pedrero Metro Station, on October 18, 2019.
Both of them they were unanimously acquitted of the crimes of arson and public disorder occurred the day the social crisis broke out.

On the reasons for the decision, which will be detailed in depth in the sentence, Judge José Pérez pointed out that the main evidence was illegally obtained.
“The serious inconsistency in the only evidence that could place someone inside the Pedreros Metro station carrying out the behavior described (the burning) was preferred in the chain of custody, which would have been lifted without knowing by whom, from where, at what time “said the magistrate.
In addition to the acquittal, a civil lawsuit was rejected and the release of both defendants was ordered. The communication hearing of the acquittal will be next Tuesday electronically.
