This Tuesday thousands of Americans will go to the polls to choose between the president Donald trump and the democrat candidate Joe Biden, in a presidential election marked by the economic crisis and the coronavirus.
American athletes are not strangers to this civic event. In fact, several of them have openly shown their preferences. Those of the NBA, NFL and MLS stand out.
Vows to Biden
The NBA champion with the Angels Lakers, Lebron James, will vote for Democratic candidate Joe Biden.
“We want something better, we want a change in our community. We always say we want a change and now we have the opportunity, “he said bluntly to a New York Times reporter.
Megan Rapinoe, 35-year-old footballer and winner of the Ballon d’Or in 2019, will also vote for Biden. On more than one occasion he criticized Trump and called him “macho.”
Another who will also vote for the Democratic candidate is Magic Johnson. The former basketball player has been involved in several Biden campaigns in recent months.
Votes to Trump
On the other hand, the American football legend Tom Brady, will vote for the president Donald Trump.
“Donald is a good friend of mine. I’ve known him for a long time and I always support my friends, ”he once said.
