Former national tennis player Nicolás Massú remains locked up in a restaurant near the synagogue that was attacked on Monday in the center of Vienna.
Through his Twitter account, the now coach of Austrian tennis player Dominic Thiem said: “Hello people, I’m in the center of Vienna very close to the attack and they have us inside a restaurant waiting until we see when we can leave here … thanks for your messages.
In the attack several people have been injured and at least two deaths are reported after shots were fired in the Austrian capital.
The Interior Ministry of that country said that one attacker was killed and another may be fleeing the police, soon to be caught.
Police said the operation in the city center was ongoing and urged people to avoid all open spaces and public transportation. “There are several injured,” the police tweeted. “We are at the scene with all available forces. Please avoid all public squares in the city.”
Police added that the exact circumstances of the terror attack have not yet been determined.
