The president of the Constitutional Commission of the Chamber of Deputies, Matías Walker (DC), confirmed that this week they are seeking to approve the project that would allow a second withdrawal of 10% of pension funds.

Walker explained that for next Wednesday it was “agreed to vote in particular in an extended session from 3 pm to 7 pm, the projects that we believe will be easier and faster processing and approval,” according to the Emol slogan.

Along the same lines, he specified that it is the “second withdrawal of 10% and what is the total withdrawal of funds for people diagnosed with a terminal illness”.

The parliamentarian pointed out that the idea is “to dispatch these two projects this week in particular… and we can allocate the sessions of the next weeks, probably on Mondays, so as not to interfere with the discussion of the Budget Law, the projects for the forced withdrawal of funds for those with maintenance debts and the project for life annuities ”.

Walker argued that the reason for postponing the vote on the other initiatives is that they are more complex “from a technical, legal and constitutional point of view and that it will require a more thorough discussion.”

“We do not want this project to interfere in a faster discussion and voting of the projects that have a more massive impact on citizens,” said Congressman DC.

  • Consolidated project that modifies the Fundamental Charter to allow the exceptional withdrawal of funds accumulated in insurance companies, under the modality of life annuities – APPROVED with 10 votes in favor and two abstentions
  • Consolidated project “Modifies the Fundamental Charter to empower the Family Judge to authorize the withdrawal of pension funds from the delinquent obligor, by the alimony or his legal representative as an unofficial agent” – APPROVED with 12 votes in favor
