The British Lewis hamilton has become lord and master of the Formula 1. From the hand of Mercedes, the driver became the top Grand Prix winner and is on his way to his seventh world title.
But the hegemony of the German team could come to an end. And, according to Hamilton himself, it is likely that next season he will not be seen above his already traditional gray car.
After winning this weekend in Emilia-Romagna, Hamilton dedicated his triumph to the “anonymous heroes” of the team and to the leadership of the Mercedes boss, Toto wolff, whose contract with the Germans comes to an end this year.
Asked if the departure of Wolff could affect his future, Lewis dropped the bomb: “I don’t even know if I’ll be here next year, so it’s not a concern for me right now.”.
“I would like to be here next year, but there is no guarantee of that for sure. There are many things that excite me about ‘life after death’, so time will tell ”, added the Briton.
Then, Hamilton spoke about Wolff’s plans, who expressed his desire to step aside to spend time with his family.
“I understand and we have a lot of deep conversations, Toto and I, so I’m very, very aware of where he is mentally., and I think we share and carry a lot of weight together, “said Lewis.
“I’ve been here a long, long time and I can definitely understand wanting to go back a bit and give time to things like family. I don’t know who will replace him. He is a leader ”, declared the current Formula 1 champion.
