A young fisherman accused of being driven off the shore from the Los Palos river in Puerto Aysén, by the owner of the neighboring property.
The event was captured on video and uploaded to social networks by the affected Brandon Simms, who explained to CHV Noticias that “at no time was his property entered, much less his private space was invaded.”
“We have very clear laws,” he added. And he specified that precisely “at the moment of trying to explain him the man got out of control and threw our belongings into the street.”
“Don’t talk stupid things to me (…) I live here, I bought this plot 20 years ago”, faced the owner.
As Simms tried to remind the owner of the land, the law expressly provides that “owners of land adjacent to sea beaches, rivers or lakes must provide free access to these for tourism and fishing purposes.”
In case of not respecting the provision, they risk fines ranging between 500 thousand and 5 million pesos.
As the defendant Raúl Arce explained to the aforementioned media, “when I greet him and asked where he entered, he answers me in a very rude way and tells me that I have to know the law.”
“What I hope is that when we have visitors, they enter through the doors,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Minister of National Assets, Julio Isamit, ordered the seremi in the Aysén region to inspect the place and check if there is access to the property.
What happened in Puerto Aysén brings to mind what happened in February 2019 in Lake Ranco, Los Ríos region, when Matías Pérez Cruz, president of Gasco, rebuked and expelled three women from the beach.
“It’s my garden,” he pointed out at the opportunity.
