The Controller will investigate possible irregularities in contracts with amounts that would be excessive, as well as possible influence peddling within the Municipality of Viña del Mar, related to the low costs charged by the O’Higgins Hotel, for an event of the association “City of God”.
According to the information known in October last year, it was reported that groups of people, including municipal and external officials, were They met for religious services in offices and / or in municipal offices, meeting rooms of the well-known hotel in the garden city and Quinta Vergara, places where lunches and activities were organized at the expense of public resources.
Faced with this, the deputy Andrés Celis, turned to the Comptroller for this situation to be investigated and for the municipality of Viña del Mar to give a response to this fact.
For her part, Councilor Laura Gianici, commented that it is common for rooms at the O’Higgins Hotel to be occupied for activities such as seminars, but the mayor pointed out that religious events they are not the responsibility of the municipality.
