Coquimbo region registers 3 deaths and 14 new cases of Covid-19

In addition, the Health Authority reported 12,692 accumulated cases, of which 117 are active. And as for the breakdown by commune, he explained that “4 belong to La Serena, 8 to Coquimbo, 1 to Los Vilos and 1 to another region.”

Regarding the health residences strategy, there is currently an occupancy of 38% and 118 rooms available. “Those who are a confirmed or suspected case and cannot quarantine their home, we invite you to call 800 726 666 to manage the entrance to one of our residences in the Coquimbo Region and thus perform a safe isolation”, Seremi Garcia pointed out.

31 people hospitalized

Edgardo González, Director (S) of the Coquimbo Health Service, delivered the balance of the Assistance Network, informing that the occupancy of beds reaches 68%. “Today our Assistance Network has 1,166 beds with a current endowment, of which 350 are available. And in relation to the beds in the Critical Patient Units, we have 5 ICU beds, which are those with mechanical ventilators, and 9 ICUs, ”he said.

Regarding the report of patients hospitalized by Covid-19 in the region, the authority reported that “31 people remain hospitalized as a result of the virus, of which 7 are serious and connected to mechanical ventilation. In addition, 21 people remain in home hospitalization as a result of Covid-19 ”.

Finally, regarding the affected health personnel, the Director (S) reported that there are 21 officials from the Health Service and hospitals who have tested positive for the virus, and 34 are in preventive quarantine. While in Primary Health Care (PHC), to date no officials are reported who have tested positive for the virus, and 14 are kept in quarantine.
