The Undersecretary of Social Evaluation, Alejandra Candia, and the team of surveyors of the Center for Surveys and Longitudinal Studies of the Pontifical Catholic University (CEEL), began the process of gathering information from the Casen Pandemic Survey 2020.
Candia, together with the CEEL Director, David Bravo, and part of the Casen Panel of Experts, participated in an activity at the Pontifical Catholic University Extension Center.
In the instance, they kicked off the second phase of this survey, in which the interviewers will begin to apply the questionnaire to those households that were already contacted in the pre-contact phase and that agreed to be part of this process.
Due to the health emergency, this year the Casen survey had to go to a sequential mixed modality. From September 21, a pre-contact stage began with the households selected in the sample to whom, between this October 31 and next January 31, a reduced questionnaire will be applied.
The undersecretary stated that “at this stage the fundamental thing is that people in their homes have the peace of mind that each of their answers will be used only for statistical purposes, always safeguarding confidentiality.”
“The data that the people who give us will not harm them in the allocation of social benefits or support, so we invite them to answer each of the questions without fear, since each of their answers is key to understanding the reality of our country, “he added.
For its part, Minister of Social Development and Family, Karla Rubilar He explained that “there are already more than 60,000 households throughout the country that have agreed to participate in this process. We want to thank you for your commitment and we also want to redouble the call to participate, to be part of this survey so necessary for the design of public policies in our country. “
Rubilar pointed out that “to date the regions with the highest levels of rejection are Magallanes and Arica and Parinacota, so we make a more meaningful call to these households, since we need everyone’s help to be able to achieve a successful process that allows us clearly identify the shortcomings and difficulties that we face today as a society ”.
Finally, it was ensured that the results of the Casen survey in Pandemic 2020 will be available at the end of the first half of next year.
