This Friday the young 24-year-old policeman Eugenio Sebastián Nain Caniumil lost his life after being shot in the town of Metrenco, when the police unit in which he was traveling was attacked by unknown persons.
The young policeman was taken to the Temuco Hospital, seriously injured, where he finally died as a result of his injuries.
Nain Caniumil was 24 years old, he was a second corporal and he belonged to the 2nd police station in Temuco. In addition, he was married and had two children, one only seven months old.
His assassination has provoked the reaction of the Government, which has already presented a criminal complaint, while the President of the Republic, Sebastián Piñera, strongly condemned the act of violence.
It also generated the reaction of people who did not know him, who came to the police station where he worked to light candles in his honor, but also in others throughout the country.

In the middle of his wake, the widow of Eugenio Sebastián Nain Caniumil, Dahianna Pereira, delivered statements to the media, which were reported by CNN.
“My husband was a great policeman, he never hit anyone,” he said, adding that he wants justice for him because “he was a great man, a great father, a great son, a great grandson. He was a faultless person”, She expressed through tears.
And he added: “He had plans with us, with his family, with his children. Now he will not be able to see them grow ”.
Pereira recalled that he “He always told me: ‘love, I’m going to work, but I don’t know if I’m going to come back.’ And just that day passed, he wasn’t working for an hour ”.
It should be noted that Nain Caniumil is the martyr number 1,221 of the Carabineros,
