Former manager of defunct airline LAW to run for president as an independent

Economist Bernardo Javalquinto announced this week that he will participate as an independent in next year’s presidential elections.

Agree Biobío, the economist is remembered for being the general manager of the defunct airline Latin American Wings (LAW), in which he took charge of problems almost to the end of its existence.

Javalquinto, an economist at the University of Maryland, worked for the World Bank for six years and was a member of the editorial board and dialogue advisor for the Grameen Bank.

He was also the CEO of LLC, an American company dedicated to nanotechnology.

On the other hand, it participated in the launch of a satellite to provide free Wi-Fi in Latin America, as well as in the creation of a technology park in Miami focused on laboratories in charge of developing nano-copper and gold nanoparticles.

The economist said that if he is elected president, he will seek to improve education, pensions, investment in public health and the strengthening of SMEs.
