This Wednesday it was announced that Deputy Renato Garin (IND) filed a complaint with the Investigative Police for alleged harassment via telephone and messages.
As BioBioChile learned, It all started on Saturday in a game of the video game Among Us that was being broadcast on Twitch, a game in which Congressman Giorgio Jackson (RD) also participated.
Ten minutes after Jackson left the game, one of the broadcast participants can be heard saying “Renato Garin chuchetumadre.”
(Note: The channel and transmission would not belong to the person who uttered the insult, but to another participant in the game)
After the facts, This Tuesday, Congressman Garin called to report the Twitch account through his Twitter: “Please report this Twitch channel, permanent attacks on me and my family with insults.”

After Garin called to report the Twitch channel, Congressman Giorgio Jackson posted on his Twitter: “I find it surreal to have to comment on this, but since @GarinDiputado suggests that I was ‘sending’ a student who said ‘Garin CSM’ in a stream, I obviously come to deny it ”.

Jackson refers to an exchange that deputy Garin would have had with the aforementioned young man, what this Wednesday was confirmed by Garin himself, acknowledging that he effectively faced it “with Chileanisms because I am absolutely flat from the climate of hatred and persecution.”
Following Jackson’s words, Garin replied: “Giorgio. even when? Today (Tuesday 27) they have called my mother, me and my deceased father’s number several times to shout things against me. The voice, very similar to the one recorded ‘playing’ to tell me ‘conchetumadre’ ‘maraco ctm “”.
To which Jackson replied: “It seems terrible to me that people call you with threats, I hope they find out who they were. Later, around 1:40 am this Wednesday, Congressman Garín uploaded a new tweet where he explained that the person who was besieging him had gotten bored: “The Unknown was bored. This is not a game. Goodnight”.

Due to these events, this Wednesday morning, after 08:00 hours, Deputy Garin published a tweet again where he told part of the situation.
“I also love Among Us and I like to play with friends and friends online. However, what happened yesterday was not a game and I did not get angry because of a chocman or because someone insulted me in a live show, “he said.
Added that “Yesterday (Tuesday) there was an escalation of selective digital harassment first in networks and then by phone, calling numbers of my relatives, when answering they played an audio with insults against me, very very similar to the insults made in the video circulating of the game Among Us between some young people from Buin and another deputy (Jackson) “.
“During the afternoon, the harassment went from the networks to the telephone. This happened hundreds of times, with calls until last night (Wednesday morning) at 00:45 am ”, he explained.
He also mentioned: “Indeed, I made a complaint to the PDI, although not for the game Among Us, but for the harassment via networks and by telephone. There is an identified person whom I actually faced with Chileanisms because I am absolutely flat from the climate of hatred and persecution, funas and counterfuna that have settled in this country “.
“I also did not make public any personal data of the subject, and those that I obtained are available on the web for everyone. For me, all those who promote funas and threats can go to the crest because they are damaging the democracy we are trying to build, “he argued.

According to sources from BioBioChile, the Cybercrime Brigade of the Investigative Police received the complaint and worked in coordination with the Western Metropolitan Prosecutor’s Office. Said antecedents indicate that the detectives identified the person who reported Garin, took a statement from him, and the person was warned.
BioBioChile contacted Renato Garin and asked him if he believed that Deputy Jackson had something to do with the situation, to which Garin replied that he hopes “that the deputy (Jackson) has nothing to do with it and this is clarified.
On whether he knew the young man accused, Garin said: “I don’t know him, he only appeared on my radar on Monday.”
